DSWPS Portfolio Book

What is it?
This will be the first book in the history of our group to contain a broad portfolio of member artwork. Each DSWPS member may participate and will have an image of one work on a page in the book, which will be published in paperback with color images and a glossy cover.

It will be exciting to see our work in print and to have copies available for family, friends, patrons, and prospective galleries. We hope every member will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

How much will it cost?
The cost is only $20 per participant, and the project is self-funding. Contributors will receive a complimentary copy and have the opportunity to purchase additional copies from the first printing. The book also will be available for purchase online from the printer after publication.

How do I participate?
Members who wish to participate must mail the Submission Form and fee, as well as send a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 5 images of their artwork by email, no later than July 31. Early entries are encouraged and appreciated.

Images will be accepted only in JPEG file format by email (no CDs, DVDs, slides or prints). Images must have at least 2400 pixels on the longer side and a file size of at least 1 MB. Please submit only the highest quality images.

Additional information is contained on the Submission Form. Please read it carefully.

What is the timing?
An editorial committee will review the images submitted and select one from each participant to include in the book. Participants will be notified by August 31 of the committee’s selection and, at that time, will be asked if they wish to purchase any additional copies. We expect the book will be available in early December in time for the annual Christmas luncheon.

Who is involved?
Candy Law is leading the project as Editor, with Alice Allhoff, Martine MacDonald, Dee Trainor, Paula Wild, and others serving on the editorial committee. Inclusion in the book is voluntary, and all costs of production will be borne by the participating members. No funds from the DSWPS will be used. The logo and a short history of the DSWPS may be included in the design, and the DSWPS may use the printed portfolio to promote the organization.
